Temperatures drop overnight Tuesday before wintry mix moves in

Temperatures will be cold to start, but then warm through the night and into Wednesday. This means we will see some wintry weather for a few hours at the beginning and then end up with a cold rain Wednesday for that morning commute.

WHAT'S NEW: The timing on this next system has sped up a bit. It looks like we will see the first showers Tuesday evening, after dinnertime and after the evening commute. Temperatures will be cold to start, but then warm through the night and into Wednesday. This means we will see some wintry weather for a few hours at the beginning and then end up with a cold rain Wednesday for that morning commute.
Areas north of the Merritt Parkway will likely see some sleet or wet snow with rain starting around 9 p.m. through about midnight. Areas north of I-84 may see some wet snow that will linger through about 2-3 a.m. This will change to all rain for most by Wednesday morning commute. Temperatures will rise into the 40s for Wednesday afternoon.
WHAT'S NEXT: The rest of the week stays cold. Looks dry through next weekend with some pretty cold nights ahead.
